If there's one thing we know, then that's smoking wood! these American hardwoods come in Pecan, Maple, Post Oak & Hickory, but the stock does vary due to how popular it is.
Buying splits to cut your own chunks is much more economical. So, you can process the wood into chunks using a manual or circular saw.

Flavours of Wood Split Packs
We've managed to get a limited supply of this wood from our US wood supplier, it's the original brisket wood! made famous by the likes of Aaron Franklin and Texas BBQ. Hence, if American style brisket is your aim, this is the wood for you.

New to our range is red oak, sweater than white oak and easier to keep a flame going due to its lighter weight and density. Additionally, it is perfect as a grilling wood on a PK grill, or for burning down to embers for grilling. Use this Oak on its own as we do not feel the need to mix with a fruit wood when smoking.
Our personal favourite Wood Split Packs at ProSmoke with its unmistakable smell and taste. Oak's a heavier smoke that suits all meat types and maybe too heavy for vegetables. Pairs particularly well with beef and lamb, and is a must when cooking brisket.
One of the best sweet smokes you can use. Very light smoke, ideal for people new to smoking and not looking to over smoke their food. Pairs very well with Poultry and mixes well with Oak.
Another fantastic sweet smoke with the added bonus of applying lovely deep red colour to your food. Pairs well with poultry, especially duck, also a must for pork ribs and pulled pork cooks.
It has a mildly sweet and fruity flavour which makes apple wood ideal for cooking smoked chicken, turkey or fish. Mixes well with Oak or Beech.
Why not try burning wood down to embers and cooking over it as pictured. This is a great alternative to charcoal, and the oldest way to cook over fire. It is also suitable for quick grilling.
These Wood Split Packs are gnarly! good seasoned hardwood has likely been laid in a field for a few years, so expect moss & bark, so you may need wire brush to clean them up, or throw them right in your smoker like we do.
One thing is for sure, they will be dried to the perfect level to burn well and give you amazing smoker flavour !

Apple very clean whilst cherry very dirty. Looks like soil and dust. Cleaned up before using to be safe. Smokes ok.
Thanks for the review Dave. Yes the wood does often come through dirty as the trees have been laid in a field while seasoning / drying. By not cleaning it up before shipment or doing any prep work we can keep the price low.
If you have the tools and skill to safely cut these to the size you need, then they are an excellent purchase, especially for the woods that aren’t that easy to source in the UK
