Fire management becomes a lot easier when you have a fire basket. This basket is specially designed to hold a large bag of charcoal and wood chunks, it will enable lots of airflow underneath the fire, along with keeping all the fuel together, which means more efficient heat. It also means the minion method for low maintenance cooking is now possible.

This type of basket is best used when you have wrapped the food on your smoker and want to walk away from it. Fill halfway with unit charcoal, then pour 1/2 or a full chimney of lit charcoal on top, the lit coals will slowly ignite the unlit coals and give you hours of burn time.
