The Blackstone Original 22inch Tabletop Griddle With Hood is here to improve how you cook outside. Whether it’s to the tailgate, campsite, or park, this portable griddle is perfect for on the go. It quickly heats up with a total of 24,000 BTUs through two “H” style burners that provide even heat distribution for optimal cooking across the whole griddle. While the Rear Grease Management System allows you to clean up quickly, the hood helps to keep it clean till you are ready to cook again.

Its great - but only when you remove the gas restrictors!

Was so looking forward to receiving the griddle, watched loads of videos on how to season it, I attempted to do that and the gas burner didn't feel anywhere near hot enough and occasionally went out, and after hours of trying to season it I ran out of gas!

Messaged the guys at ProSmoke and they advised due to some EU regulations the units are shipped with restrictors, these aren't required in the UK and so can be removed, they referred to the red instruction sheet enclosed in the box.

Well I can tell you that sheet is pretty much impossible to understand and decipher what you are supposed to do, a simple video would do the trick. Anyway I figured it out and you have to remove the burners from the base and then remove the restrictors which are screwed on to the stalks of the burner knobs. Once reassembled it fires all as expected and chucks out lots of great heat.

So I am knocking off 1 star as the instructions for UK users need to be much clearer on this and would have meant I didn't waste a load of gas.

I also purchased the wind guards, and whilst very pricey for what is some pretty basic sheet metal, they certainly do help on windy days and generally keeping the heat on the griddle.

With those initial issues sorted we are loving the griddle though and cooking on it at least once a week and exploring lots of new recipes - smash burgers were amazing on it as were american style pancakes.

Looks Sturdy Enough

Can't really give an indepth review of performance as haven't yet assembled.
However initial first looks are that the unit is well built and should be OK.
As you would expect the majority of the weight is in the griddle and lid section. The burner section is quite light.
Dont put weight on on the lid. The metal is not very thick and you will flex/distort it.
