Long burn in wsm

Tried other leading national brands. Then saw franklin post oak at local Heb store decided to try it in my wsm with grill grate. Used full 12lb bag temperature was 36 outside 5-10 mph breeze. Little slow to get to 230 temperature. Put on 14lb brisket. This charcoal burned 16hrs between 225-235 steady. Temperature was below freezing for much of cook upper 20s. Was very impressed with flavor and length of burn on chilly texas night. Would highly recommend.

Franklin briquets

I usually use weber briquettes. Bought these specially to smoke a brisket flat.
Was impressed with the gentle steady smoke they produced, and wasn't convinced I needed the pecan wood on top.
My impression was they burn a little faster, and they are dearer than weber briquettes, but still got through 8.5h smoking , at 110c ,required for the brisket to reach doneness, and maintained smoking temp to about 11 hours , on a single load, on my WSM 47cm. Impressed with the flavour of the end product and would recommend.

Have to be honest, I wasn't sure on these at first due to the price as there expensive for the amount of briquettes you get in the bag, pretty much the same amount as briquettes from the supermarket. Used them in my master built 1050, and immediately saw and smelt the difference, easy to ignite, and the smell of the smoke was lovely, got a nice even blue smoke and understood why the price is what it is. I would definitely buy these again. Not on the regular (due to the price) but for certain occasions. I also used these in my weber 57cm, with the vortex. And results were also great. Quality 5 star, but price for the amount you receive 3 star however most definitely not your average briquettes

Proper oak smell, burn long or liw and slow.

Top notch briquettes

It would be easy to dismiss these as a gimmick due to the Franklin branding but they're the best briquettes I've tried so far. They burn long and add great flavour even without adding any smoking wood, love them
