The Best Chimney Starter We've Used
Large Quickglow Chimney Starter is by far the best way to start lump wood charcoal, briquettes or wood splits.
Simply load your chosen fuel, place 2 of our fire starters underneath, light them and the chimney creates a vortex effect, drawing the hot air up and out of the chimney through the coals, this will get the coals started extremely quickly.
You know your coals are ready for use once they go white. Carefully empty them into your BBQ and you're ready to start cooking.
But there's more! These starters are compatible with the Quickglow cold air booster. This unique (optional) base with an inbuilt fan, will get your coals ready to use in 8 minutes, this is a huge step forward for briquettes that can often be hard to ignite.

Bought this to replace a Weber chimney which had finally worn out. Thought I’d give the fan booster a try - and it works a treat. Used on both briquettes and lump wood, cuts the pre time to between 5-10 mins and you’re ready to cook. I’m surprised how well the fan works. Be warned, the metal plate on top gets very hot in the process and easily falls off when moving after you have dumped your coal. I used a single flamer type starter in the chimney as I always have, not on the metal plate that comes with the fan as they suggest. Being stainless steel, I’m sure the chimney will continue to serve me for a long time into the future.
Another great product from Prosmoke, cuts time down having a basket ready to a third.
I only have the booster which I use with a Webber chimney. A full load of lump is ready to go on in just over 5 mins, heat beads is closer to 10 all with minimal smoke. Now that there is very little wait for the coals to be ready the wife is running out of reasons for me not BBQ every night!!
